It is a mobile port that is based on the popular open-world driving game of the same name that was released for the SEGA Dreamcast back in 2000. It is part of SEGA's Forever Classic Games Collection that featured some of the best and memorable titles from the company's past game consoles, all brought back to life on mobile.

What is Crazy Taxi Classic?

Crazy Taxi is a series of score attack racing video games that was published by SEGA back in 1999. They started out as arcade games before the company ported it to their Dreamcast video game console in 2000. You assume the role of a taxi driver who must save up money by delivering passengers to their destinations in the shortest time possible. Earn additional tips by performing crazy stunts before the time runs out.

Crazy Taxi Classic is a mobile port that is based on the original SEGA game. It features all the content in the Dreamcast port of Crazy Taxi: 2 city maps to drive around in, 4 cars and characters to choose from, and a collection of 16 mini-games to test your skills. The game modes also lend themselves well for mobile gameplay, with 3-minute, 5-minute, or 10-minute game runs to choose from in the Arcade Mode and Original Mode.

In addition, the game's original soundtrack by The Offsprings and Bad Religion all make their return in Crazy Taxi Classic, as well. It's not a perfect mobile port, though as they are some issues that hinder gameplay. For one, the controls are clunky were not optimized for touch input. Another is the random glitches you'll encounter throughout the game, such as getting stuck in random walls and objects when you bump into them.

All in all, Crazy Taxi Classic is as close as we are going to get to experience the original game's fun and crazy gameplay again. It features all the content from the Dreamcast port, from the maps, cars, mini-games, and even the OST. The controls and glitches do get in the way sometimes, but it's not something that can't be fixed in future updates.
